LET’S BUILD A MORE JUST AND RESILIENT FOOD SYSTEM FOR ALL RHODE ISLANDERS!

We depend on the shared work of RIFPC’s wide community to create a more equitable, accessible, economically-vibrant, and environmentally sustainable food system! There are many ways to join in the work- the RIFPC Engagement Pyramid can help you understand how!

Get Involved

1. Become a part of our wide network by staying up to date on our announcements, educational opportunities, public events and more by getting our “Notes from the Field” newsletter and following us on social media!

3. Finally, join the core of our work by becoming a Work Group member!

These dedicated individuals commit 4-5 hours per month to doing the hard work of developing, promoting and moving legislation forward in our three focus areas: Food Access and Nutrition Security, Food Business and Economic Development and Food, Climate and Environment.

This commitment includes:

  • Actively participating in 1-1.5 hr monthly meetings
  • Signing up for tasks and moving the work forward between meetings
  • Advocating to legislators in support of the work group’s priorities

Work groups take shape each year after our annual Policy Retreat and meet monthly from October through June.

Interested in joining a work group? Tell us more and we’ll make sure you know the next opportunity to join!
