Each year this conference attracts a wide array of speakers and attendees, from composters to food rescuers, to regulators to academics, to students, concerned citizens, and more.
This year’s theme is Wasted Food Solutions – presentations that demonstrate how we are advancing food waste solutions in RI are encouraged!
2025 Rhode Island Compost Conference:

at Rhode Island College
Potential topic suggestions could focus on:
Using organics to meet recycling/climate goals, marketing and using compost, farming innovation and soil health, the business of composting, managing operations, municipal programs, contamination reduction and measurement, state regulatory processes, composting processes, community composting, food waste technology trends (AD, aerobic, in-vessel, windrows, etc.), food waste reduction, surplus food donation solutions, or other trending topics.
If you have a presentation or panel idea that you feel is of interest to Rhode Island, please consider applying. Presentations will be structured around 15-20 minute time blocks.
