On September 1, more than 40 Board Members, Council Members, Work Group Members, and staff convened at the Farm Fresh Rhode Island facility on Sims Avenue in Providence for the annual retreat.
RIFPC’s policy priorities are selected based on comprehensive data analysis, broad network input, strategic conversations with Council and stakeholders, and ultimately decided upon by using a modified consensus-based decision-making process. Key themes were based on results from RIFPC’s 2022 Food System Stakeholder Survey, in which Rhode Islanders responded with concerns related to preserving our farms, protecting our environment, ensuring food access, and supporting our businesses. More results from the survey will be available this Fall.
